I happen to love snow days! We are lucky enough to live on a street with a couple of little hills and a lot of really great kids that love to play together!
So, while the kids were outside playing, I chose a couple of things from my big list that have been nagging me for months, and I got to work!
Today, I plowed through two bathroom closets. Here are some takeaways:
1. Keep all genres together. So, toothpaste, floss, mouthwash, extra toothbrushes go into one box or on one shelf, while all medicine can go onto another shelf.
2. Be sure to discard all old meds, properly. The FDA has a quick article that specifically instructs “How To Dispose of Unused Medicines.” http://www.fda.gov/forconsumers/consumerupdates/ucm101653.htm
3. Store medications in a plastic box that locks. They are available at stores like Bed, Bath & Beyond.
4. Instead of constantly trying to keep brushes from falling over in containers, hang them on the inside of a cabinet door. This frees up space in other areas too.
You can buy these strips with hooks at Home Depot or Lowe’s and then apply plastic loops to anything you want to hang.
5. Simplify your life and choose one color for all your towels in ALL of your bathrooms. That makes them interchangeable and gives your linen closets a clean and monochromatic look.
And when you’ve accomplished something that makes you feel great, go outside for a few minutes and play with the kids! They’ll remember it forever!
Enjoy the snow everyone!
